New ARM Cortex A35 architecture available

Today, ARM launches its new CPU architecture, Cortex A35. It will be mainly for low end smartphones, wearable devices, IoT devices. ARM Cortex A35 is based on ARMv8-A 64 bit architecture and will be used to replace old ARM Cortex A7 and A5.

ARM said Cortex A35 is the most power efficient processor, its power consumption is only 125mW. If adopting 28nm process technology and 1GHz frequency, its power consumption will reduce to 90mW. If keeping same power consumption and adopting 16nm or 14nm process, then its frequency can be over 2GHz.

Of course, it can also work with ARM Cortex A53, A57 or A72 to boost the performance of CPU.

Compared with Cortex A7, under same frequency and process technology, its power consumption is 10% lower, and performance is 6%-40% higher. If comparing with Cortex A53, its performance will be about 20% lower, but power consumption is 32% lower, and its size is also much smaller.

The first CPU with this ARM Cortex A35 may roll out at end of 2016.

Lenovo may release Yoga 4 Pro on 9th Nov

At early Oct, Microsoft launched new generation 2 in 1 tablet pc, Surface Pro 4, and Surface Book. People said 2 in 1 tablet will be the future, but till now, we can not see any tablet pc suppliers from China following up. This morning, we heard a good news from Lenovo.

On 29th Oct, Lenovo announced that it will open a new product presentation conference on 9th, Nov. In this conference, Lenovo may launch its new 2 in 1 tablet pc, Lenovo Yoga 4 Pro. In fact, this unit has already appeared in USA on 20th, Oct.

This Lenovo Yoga 4 tablet pc owns Intel 6th Gen Core I series processor. Screen size is 13.3 inch. Resolution is 3K level. As the battery density is enhanced, the life is also extended by 2 hours. More important, this unit will run the latest Windows 10 operation system.

In meanwhile, Lenovo Yoga Home with 27 inch screen may also roll out in the conference. But it is not all. As our news, Lenovo may launch one new product similar as Surface Book. But there is no any information about it for now.

Yesterday, HTC launched its latest smart phone, HTC One A9. This unit owns one 5 inch IPS screen, resolution is 1080P level, CPU is Qualcomm Snapdragon 617 octa core, you can click here for detail information about this smart phone.

Many people said, HTC launched one new iPhone 6, but operation system is Android 6.0. We can see from the picture, the looks of this HTC One A9 is nearly the same as iPhone 6. It is the first non-Nexus devices running Android 6.0 operation system.

This HTC One A9 adopts 2.5D Corning IV Gorilla Glass, screen resolution is also not bad. But its CPU performance is not high, maybe that is the flaw. We have introduced this CPU before. Its performance is only about 40000 scores, compared with XiaoMi Mi 4C with Qualcomm Snapdragon 808, its performance falls behind a lot.

In meanwhile, it does not come with the USB Type C port which is quite popular nowadays. As we know, the Lenovo ZUK Z1, Le 1 Max and other top smart phones are all coming with USB Type C. More important, HTC One A9 has only 2150Mah battery. We are quite doubting its battery life. Even the HTC One M9 which adopts 2840Mah battery can not work for a long time.Maybe the only point which makes us exciting is the Android 6.0 operation system.

Its price is about 400 US dollars. In fact, we can find a lot of smart phones from China with similar price, but performance is much higher, for example, XiaoMi Note, MeiZu MX5, OnePlus 2 etc. In fact, we can not feel positive of this HTC smart phone in future.

New Mediatek octa core processor disclosed

Recently, one smart phone with Mediatek Helio P10 processor is displayed on Geekbench, the model number of the processor is MT6755. Geekbench said the performance of its single core and multi core is 882, and 3371 separately.

As a contrast, the performance of this MT6755 processor is a bit better than Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 whose single core performance and multi core performance are 650 and 2500 separately. But compared with another octa core processor from Mediatek, MT6752, its performance is a bit lower.

Archos launched one new transforming tablet with Windows OS

Last year, Archos from France launched one cheap 4 inch device with Windows operation system, following that it launched another mini tablet pc with Windows 8.1 OS, and TV sticker with Windows 10 OS. Early last week, it launched one smart phone with Windows 10 OS, today, there is one Windows 10 transforming tablet pc, named Archos Flip.

This Archos Flip looks quite similar as Lenovo Yoga. It can work as a laptop PC or tablets as well. The screen can not rotated in any angle.

Samsung is developing 18.4 inch tablet pc android?

Apple may lauch its 12 inch iPad Pro in following months, as its competitor, Samsung is also planning to launch one big screen size tablet pc. Recently, news from USA, Samsung will launch one 18.4 inch tablet pc, model number is SM-T760. This tablet is mainly for office, school or home use.

The news said this Samsung tablet owns one 18.4 inch big screen size, resolution is 1920*1080 pixels. Operation system is new Android 5.1 OS, CPU is Samsung Exynos 7580 octa core processor, frequency is 1.6GHz. RAM is 2GB, and flash memory is 32GB. It can support an external TF card up to 128GB. 

The size of this tablet is 451.8*275.8*11.9mm, battery capacity is 5700Mah, battery life is about 6 hours. The front camera is 2.1M pixels, and rear camera is 8M pixles. Till now, Samsung did not make any respond about this new tablet pc. 

But in my idea, if Samsung wants to compete with Apple iPad Pro by this tablet, it will lose the battle. 

LG will invest 8.5 billion US dollars for soft OLED panel

On this Monday, LG announced it will focus on the investment of OLED panel, they believe OLED panel will be the future. LG said in following three years, it will invest about 8.5 billion US dollars. It will be mainly used for big size OLED products, smart phones, tablets pc, or smart wearable products. It will also be adopted by autos as well in future.

OLED is not a new technologies, its color rendition and power consumption is very good, that is why it is not widely adopted by smart phones and tablets pc. If LG can improve the color rendition and power consumption, it will be main stream.

Now, OLED panel is adopted by Samsung and Apple for their smart phones. But for some big size products, like TV set etc, its price is much higher than other LCD products. Samsung said the OLED TV is still too expensive.

Now, LG display and LG have already started to promote their OLED technology to TV suppliers, but if the cost can not go down, it will not be widely adopted.

LG Nuclun 2 processor disclosed

We have to say, before Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 rolls out, Samsung Exynos 7420 is still the most powerful chipset for smart phones. As the 14nm process, its performance and power consumption control is much better its competitors. Till now, Qualcomm and Samsung have taken nearly all the high end smart phone market. But recently, news from suverimax.com, LG will launch its second generation Nuclun processor.

Peopel has shared the information of this LG Nuclun 2 processor. As the testing result, the performance of its single thread and multi threads is better than Samsung Exynos 7420. This LG Nuclun adopts four 2.1 GHz ARM Cortex A72 and four 1.5GHz ARM Cortex A53, better than Samsung Exynos 7420 which owns four 2.1GHz Cortex A57 and four 1.5GHz ARM Cortex A53. This LG Nuclun will adopt 16nm process from TSMC.

Of course, it does not mean anything, maybe when this LG Nuclun 2 is adopted by smart phones, its performance may be that good. Till now, there is little information about this processor, especially, we don't know anything about its GPU. More important, as it adopts the 16nm process from TSMC, that means we can only see this processor at year end, or early next year.

In fact, LG has adopted its first generation Nuclun processor on its LG G3 Screen smart phone. But its performance is not so satisfying.

So which one will be the most powerful cihpset for smart phones, Qualcomm Snapdragon 820, Samsung Exynos 7420 or LG Nuclun 2.

Samsung may be testing one big screen size tablet pc

Today, news from USA, Samsung is testing one new tablet pc. This new tablet pc is coming with one amazing 18.4 inch screen.

If this tablet pc will be launched, it may become the biggest screen tablet pc from Samsung. Now, the biggest one is the Samsung Galaxy Tab Pro 12.2. Of course, as the big screen size, this new tablet pc may be not only a tablet pc, it should be one 2 in 1 product.

Now, in market, most of 2 in 1 tablet pc adopts Windows operation system, since Windows is more suitable for big screen devices. So this new Samsung tablet pc is quite possible running Windows 10 operation system. Now, this tablet pc is under test in Korea, there is no detail information about its configuration. Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 may roll out next week?

News from USA, Qualcomm will open the new product presentation conference in Los Angels on 11th, August. If the news is true, that means Qualcomm may launch its new generation processors for smart phones to replace the Snapdragon 810

No matter LG G Flex 2, HTC M9 or Sony Xperia Z3+ are also adopting the Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor. Of course, their result is the same. All of them have the over heating problem. After people disclosed the over heating problem of Snapdragon 810, it becomes the most emergent to launch the next generation processor.

Last month, news said Qualcomm has already finished the design of Snapdragon 820, provided samples to XiaoMi, HTC and ASUS to test the performance. The test reports will feed back to Qualcomm then Qualcomm will resolve the problem in the reports. Usually, it will take several months. So we believe the conference is not to display the new Snapdragon 820, but just to introduce the technical information of this Snapdragon 820.

Snapdragon 820 adopts the new Kyro framework, and based on 14nm process technology. It is one 64 bit quad core processor. GPU is Adreno 530, which can support LPDDR4 RAM, 28M pixels cameras, and integrates LTE Cat.10 4G network base band.

Toshiba Encore 10 tablet pc with Windows 10 OS

Yesterday, Microsoft launched its new Windows 10 operation system globally. As news from Microsoft, till now, there are over 14 million devices installed new Windows 10 operation system. As the partner of Microsoft, Toshiba announced that it launched new Encore 10, and Encore 10K tablets pc with Windows 10 OS for enterprises market.

That is one 2 in 1 tablet pc. There is one keyboard docking. When connected with keyboard, it can work as a laptop PC. The information of its screen is unknown for now. Its CPU is Intel Atom X5 quad core processor. RAM is 4GB LPDDR3, and there is 64GB SSD memory. The battery life is over 7 hours. If connected with keyboard, the battery life can be extended to over 11 hours. Both tablets can support Bluetooth 4.0 and 802.11 a/b/g/n Wifi.

The price of this Encore 10 with Windows 10 Official edition is 300 US dollars, and if you want Windows 10 Professional edition, the price will be 100 US dollars higher. If the keyboard docking is needed, you need to pay 80 US dollars extra.

Windows 10 is coming

Till now, Microsoft does not launch the Windows 10 operation system officially. But today, Microsoft started to push the mirror files of Windows 10 OS to users. Some users also confirmed the news and they can use the legit Windows 10 OS.

From the pictures, we can see when you download the mirror files, Windows will remind you of being ready to upgrade the system. You just need to click Upgrade Now, you can update your Windows 7 or Windows 8.1 OS to latest Windows 10.

If you don't receive the update notification, you can check if there is one $Windows .-bt folder in your C disc. If there is no, then you may need to wait some days. Of course, you need to confirm if you have already booked the free upgrade.

Microsoft will launch the latest operation system, Windows 10 very soon. Windows 10 Mobile is the operation system for smart phones. Now, Microsoft is working on a projection named Astoria which makes the Windows 10 Mobile operation system be compatible with Android APK. Last month, people disclosed that the Windows 10 Mobile OS has one Andorid sub operation system. But for users, the questions is how the Android APK will run on Windows 10 OS.

As news from stcamusa.com, the Astoria team is working on a new solution, it may be a big change to Windows operation system. Android developers don't need to amend its binary code to run on Windows operation system. 

Many people thought Microsoft will transfer the Android APK to Windows APX files and run on Windows 10 OS, but the latst news said, the Android APK files can be run on Windows OS directly. 

Our idea is Windows can amend the Android APK in Manifest files to APX file which can run on Windows 10 Mobile operation system.

Though, Microsoft did not tell any technical information about thsi Astoria projection, it is a very good news for users and Microsoft. As we know, there are very few APP for Windows operation system, that is why Windows OS is not very welcome.

Apple Watch takes 75% market share

TSMC will finish 10nm process before Intel

Yesterday, TSMC released its financial report in 2nd quarter of 2015, in meanwhile, it also mentioned the progress of its new process technology. The report suggested that its total revenue in 2nd quarter is about 6.6 billion US dollars, compared with last quarter, it is reduced by 7.5%, but compared with last year, it is increased by 12.2%.

As the delay of 16nm process, we did not see anything about it. So its 20nm process takes over 20% of its total shipment volume, and most of them are Apple A8 processor.

Regarding the 28nm process, its HPC and HPC plus process are still quite competitive, taking 27% of its total revenue.

As estimation, the 16nm process will be finished in the 3rd quarter of 2015. Its first 10nm quad core processor based on ARM Cortex A57 is finished, and will be massive produced in 2016. As we know, the 10nm process from Intel is delayed to 2017. That means TSMC will run ahead of Intel fist time.

Some news said the Apple A9 processor for iPhone 6S is already massive produced, and it will adopt Samsung 14nm process since TSMC 16nm is delayed. That may be a bad news to TSMC.

Several new flagship smart phones may adopt Snapdragon 820

As the overheating problem of Snapdragon 810, Qualcomm started to develop its new processor to replace Snapdragon 810. Though, there are many news about its new Snapdragon 820 processor, but the overheating still cast the shadow over this new Snapdragon 820. Many people can not believe Qualcomm can resolve the overheating problem for Snapdragon 820.

But by its leader position in smart phone area, there are still many mobile phone suppliers adopting its new processor in their new flagship smart phones. We are sure this Snapdragon 820 will adopt the most advanced process and powerful performance. It integrates four 64 bit Dryo cores, and frequency is 3GHz, GPU is the Adreno 530.

The following four smart phones may adopt the most powerful CPU from Qualcomm.

First is the LG G4 Pro. This unit may be launched in this Oct. Except the Snapdragon 820 processor, it owns one 5.8 inch IPS screen, resolution is 2560*1400 pixels. RAM is 4GB LPDDR4. Flash memory is 64GB. Its front camera is 8M pixels, and rear camera is 27M pixels. Performance is very high. 

Second is Mstar S700 Pro. Maybe you have never heard of Mstar before. It is one company from China. This S700 Pro will also be launched in this Oct, it owns 5.5 inch QHD IPS screen, RAM is 4GB, flash memory is 32GB. Front camera is 11M pixels, and rear camera is 21M pixels. The operation system is Android 5.1.1 OS, its price is about 480 US dollars

Third one is HTC Aero. This mobile phone will be launched in the 4th quarter of 2015. As the failure of HTC One M9. Now, HTC put its efforts on this new mobile phone. It will adopt the Snapdragon 820 processor. The other information is unknown for now.

Forth is Sony Xperia Z5. It will roll out within this Sept. It is the fifth product of Sony Xperia Z series. Except Z5, there are several other editions, like Z5 Ultra, Z5 Compact etc. Except this Snapdragon 820 processor, it owns 21M pixels camera with Sony Exmor RS IMX230 CMOS sensor. Battery capacity is 4500Mah, and operation system is Android 5.0 Lollipop OS. 

Sales volume of big screen smart phone will surpass mini tablet pc

Nowadays, the screen size of your mobile phones is becoming bigger and bigger. When Apple launched the iPhone 6 Plus in 2014, 5 inch or above screen size is more welcome than before. In meanwhile, the tablet pc is put into bad condition. Even Apple iPad can not be exception. As estimation by STCAMUSA, in 2015, the sales of big screen size mobile phone is 252 million pieces, compared with last year, it is increased by 66%. But the sales of tablet pc is only 238 million pieces, increased by only 2%. That means the sales of big screen mobile phone will surpass tablet pc.

Except that, the share of 5 inch or above mobile phones is increasing year by year. In 2015, it is 17%, in 2016, it will be 21%, and in 2018, it will increase to 30%.

When big screen size mobile phone is more welcome, mini tablet pc will lose its market share.
