Apple Watch takes 75% market share

Recently Apple released its 3rd quarter financial report, but it did not list the sales volume or revenue of Apple Watch. It seems Apple is not so confident of Apple Watch. But recently, stcamusa.com released another report. The report said Apple Watch has taken 75% market share within one month after it was launched.

The Apple Watch owns the most market share, the second one is Samsung, which owns only 7.5% market share. As estimation, in the second quarter of 2015, the sales volume of Apple Watch is about 4 million pieces, and Samsung smart watch is only 400 thousand pieces.

The total sales volume of smart watch in the second quarter is about 5.3 million pieces. And this number has already overpass the whole 2014 year. In second quarter of 2014, Samsung took about 73.6% market share. Now, it fell behind Apple Watch a lot.

Till now, Apple Watch is for sale in 18 countries, and next month, it will land more countries.

ASUS Chromebook Flip C100 tablet pc rolls out

From April this year, Google started to make cooperation with Rockchip and tablet pc suppliers in China, till now, there are also 6 Chromebook tablets launched. This ASUA Chromebook Flip C100 is one of them. It was displayed in April, and three months later, this unit is available for sale. Its price is starting from 250 US dollars.

This Chromebook Flip C100 owns one 10.1 inch. Screen resolution is 1280*800 pixels. CPU is the RK3288 quad core from Rockchip. Frequency is 1.8GHz. RAM is 2GB, buyers also can choose 4GB RAM as well. Flash memory is 16GB. Keyboard is already included in package. Operation system is Chrome OS.

Now, this Chromebook is already available for sale on Amazon, Ebay and other online store. Its 2GB edition is 250 US dollars, and 4GB edition is 300 US dollars.

TSMC will finish 10nm process before Intel

Yesterday, TSMC released its financial report in 2nd quarter of 2015, in meanwhile, it also mentioned the progress of its new process technology. The report suggested that its total revenue in 2nd quarter is about 6.6 billion US dollars, compared with last quarter, it is reduced by 7.5%, but compared with last year, it is increased by 12.2%.

As the delay of 16nm process, we did not see anything about it. So its 20nm process takes over 20% of its total shipment volume, and most of them are Apple A8 processor.

Regarding the 28nm process, its HPC and HPC plus process are still quite competitive, taking 27% of its total revenue.

As estimation, the 16nm process will be finished in the 3rd quarter of 2015. Its first 10nm quad core processor based on ARM Cortex A57 is finished, and will be massive produced in 2016. As we know, the 10nm process from Intel is delayed to 2017. That means TSMC will run ahead of Intel fist time.

Some news said the Apple A9 processor for iPhone 6S is already massive produced, and it will adopt Samsung 14nm process since TSMC 16nm is delayed. That may be a bad news to TSMC.

Several new flagship smart phones may adopt Snapdragon 820

As the overheating problem of Snapdragon 810, Qualcomm started to develop its new processor to replace Snapdragon 810. Though, there are many news about its new Snapdragon 820 processor, but the overheating still cast the shadow over this new Snapdragon 820. Many people can not believe Qualcomm can resolve the overheating problem for Snapdragon 820.

But by its leader position in smart phone area, there are still many mobile phone suppliers adopting its new processor in their new flagship smart phones. We are sure this Snapdragon 820 will adopt the most advanced process and powerful performance. It integrates four 64 bit Dryo cores, and frequency is 3GHz, GPU is the Adreno 530.

The following four smart phones may adopt the most powerful CPU from Qualcomm.

First is the LG G4 Pro. This unit may be launched in this Oct. Except the Snapdragon 820 processor, it owns one 5.8 inch IPS screen, resolution is 2560*1400 pixels. RAM is 4GB LPDDR4. Flash memory is 64GB. Its front camera is 8M pixels, and rear camera is 27M pixels. Performance is very high. 

Second is Mstar S700 Pro. Maybe you have never heard of Mstar before. It is one company from China. This S700 Pro will also be launched in this Oct, it owns 5.5 inch QHD IPS screen, RAM is 4GB, flash memory is 32GB. Front camera is 11M pixels, and rear camera is 21M pixels. The operation system is Android 5.1.1 OS, its price is about 480 US dollars

Third one is HTC Aero. This mobile phone will be launched in the 4th quarter of 2015. As the failure of HTC One M9. Now, HTC put its efforts on this new mobile phone. It will adopt the Snapdragon 820 processor. The other information is unknown for now.

Forth is Sony Xperia Z5. It will roll out within this Sept. It is the fifth product of Sony Xperia Z series. Except Z5, there are several other editions, like Z5 Ultra, Z5 Compact etc. Except this Snapdragon 820 processor, it owns 21M pixels camera with Sony Exmor RS IMX230 CMOS sensor. Battery capacity is 4500Mah, and operation system is Android 5.0 Lollipop OS. 

Sales volume of big screen smart phone will surpass mini tablet pc

Nowadays, the screen size of your mobile phones is becoming bigger and bigger. When Apple launched the iPhone 6 Plus in 2014, 5 inch or above screen size is more welcome than before. In meanwhile, the tablet pc is put into bad condition. Even Apple iPad can not be exception. As estimation by STCAMUSA, in 2015, the sales of big screen size mobile phone is 252 million pieces, compared with last year, it is increased by 66%. But the sales of tablet pc is only 238 million pieces, increased by only 2%. That means the sales of big screen mobile phone will surpass tablet pc.

Except that, the share of 5 inch or above mobile phones is increasing year by year. In 2015, it is 17%, in 2016, it will be 21%, and in 2018, it will increase to 30%.

When big screen size mobile phone is more welcome, mini tablet pc will lose its market share.

New XiaoMi bracelet, XiaoMi 1S

Last July, XiaoMi launched its first smart bracelet, XiaoMi Bracelet. Compared with similar products in market at that moment, its function and performance is not best. But as its very low price, only 13 US dollars, its sales volume was still quite considerate. One year later, XiaoMi may launch another new bracelet, 1S. This design of this new Mi Band 1S is still the same as last generation, but XiaoMi has added the heart rate sensing function, so there is one sensor built in.

Of course, we don't think XiaoMi just added the heart rate sensing function into this new products. So maybe there will be some more useful features in this new XiaoMi Band 1S.

Regarding the price, though XiaoMi did not tell anything, but we believe it should be the same as last generation, only 13 US dollars.

One secret 7 inch tablet pc from HTC

Through the import and export commodity list of Zauba, we can know a lot of new tablets pc or smart phones from various suppliers. From the latest list, we found HTC exported one new tablet pc from Taiwan to India. They arrived in India on 11th, June, and 26th, June. The model number of this new tablet pc is HTC Desire T7 DS. DS may mean dual SIM. The price of the tablet pc is 180 US dollars.

From the list, we know, this tablet pc own one 7 inch IPS screen, resolution is unknown, CPU is one 1.2GHz quad core processor. Till now, HTC has already exported 20 pieces to India to test the market.

One 11th, June, HTC exported one piece of this HTC Desire T7 to India, but different with the units exported on 26th, June, this unit is coming with single SIM card slot.
