360 launches one smart dash cam

Now, dash cam is very hot in worldwide, and many companies start to enter this new business. Yesterday, 360 company launched one new smart dash cam. Now, this unit is already available for reservation. Its price is only 50 US dollars. It can be delivered at the end of next month.



This dash cam adopts one 160 wide degree lens. There is one HD camera built in, resolution can be 1296P. Compared with other products in market, it has higher definition, and wider viewing angle. More important, this unit can support Wifi. Once you install the APP on your smart phone or tablet, you can view videos on your smart phones, or play back videos etc.

The size of the unit is 50.5*63*19.5mm. There is one 2 inch LCD display. CPU is the Amberalla A7LA55. Battery capacity is 700Mah. The max video resolution is 2304*1296 pixels. It can support a TF memory card up to 64GB.

The biggest feature of this dash cam is Wifi module built in. But it can only support iOS above 6.0 version or Android OS above 4.0

This unit can work under a very high temperature up to 85 degree.

Google Android Brillo OS launched

Now, IoT and smart household are the hot area, recently, Google launched a new operation system, coded Project Brillo.

This operation system is developed based on Android, with highly simplified. It can support Wifi and Bluetooth. It is called as one end-end operation system, but how this Android Brillio will be added into devices.



In meanwhile, Google also introduced one communication layer, called Weave. It can allow devices in the IoT to communicate with each other. All the devices use the same languages. So what is the purpose of this function. We can take a simple example. When you close the door, the air conditioners at home will know about it, and turn off power.

The preview edition for developers of this Android Brillo OS will be available at 3rd quarter of this year. Weave will be available in the 4th quarter of this year.

TSMC and Samsung are working on 10nm process

The 14nm process technology from Samsung is already massive produced, and highly commented by its clients including Apple and Qualcomm. Its compliance rate is very high. As our previous report, Apple may pass most of its orders to Samsung. Of course, TSMC will be not happy about this situation.



As news from Taiwan, now, the 16nm process from TSMC is also massive produced. Though it still falls behind of Samsung's 14nm process, TSMC believe when its production volume of 14nm process increases, its performance will not lose Samsung.

But we have to say TSMC has already fallen behind of Samsung, so to make sure the development of 10nm process, TSMC will invest 10 billion US dollars.

In meanwhile, Samsung is also trying to develop its own 10nm process. Samsung said its 10nm process has great advantage on product size, and power consumption and will be massive produced at the end of next year. So maybe the iPhone 7 can catch up with this 10nm process technology.

New Android OS will support 32MB RAM

As the Google I/O conference is coming, there are more and more news about new Android operation system. Recently, news from suverimax.com said Google is developing one new Android OS edition. This new operation system is mostly for low power consumption IoT devices. It is coded Brillo.



This operation system has adopted one new technology for low power consumption IoT devices. Normally, these devices only owns 32MB or 64MB RAM.

Google hope this new Brillo operation system can be adopted by any IoT devices, no matter it comes with screen or not.

XiaoMi is trying to develop its own processor

Recently, as our news, Xiaomi wants to make cooperation with Leadcore Technology to develop their own processor for its smart phones.

In 2014, XiaoMi has sold over 61 million pieces smart phones. Since the high sales volume, once any problem with its supply chain, it will be a big shock to XiaoMi. So, XiaoMi can not rely on Qualcomm and Leadcore too much. More important, there are many smart phones suppliers adopting Qualcomm and Leadcore processors, that is why XiaoMi wants to develop its own processor.



Leadcore is one well known company in China. It has the 3G TD-SCDMA, 4G TD-LTE Advanced patents. That is why XiaoMi chooses Leadcore. But as our estimation, XiaoMi will still choose Qualcomm for its high end smart phones since it can not develop a processor which can beat Qualomm in short time.

As we know, the XiaoMi RedMi 2A does not choose processor from Qualcoom, but from Leadcore. Its price is also less than 100 US dollars. Compared with RedMi 2 which adopts Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 quad core processor, it is about 15 US dollars cheaper.

As we know, Samsung took over 4 years to develop its 64 bit processor, and it may be launched next year. Now, the war of mobile processor has started.

Smart phone operation system in Russia

Two weeks before, we disclosed the news that Russia is developing their own processor for smart phones. Except the processor, now, they are also working on their own operation system.



As news from Russia, in order to develop their own smart phone operation system, now, they are contacting with developers of Jolla operation system. Russia wants the developers to develop one new operation system based on Sailfish OS. Now, in Russia, iOS and Android have already taken 95% market share. They hope the new operation system can be as good as iOS and Android.

Russia also hopes the operation system can boost their economic, and avoid any confidential leaking.

The problem is how to make people in Russia accept this new OS, and willing to use it. Otherwise, everything is useless.

Sharp Aquos Pad DH-05G tablet pc with Qualcomm Snapdragon 810

Though, we have reported that Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 has the overheating problem, but recently, there are more and more flagship smart phones start to adopt this processor. But few tablets adopts this Snapdragon 810 till now. Only the Sony Xperia Z4 tablet pc launched in the CES 2015 trade show adopts this CPU. Now, the second tablet with Snapdragon 810 is coming, it is from Sharp, model number is Aquos Pad DH-05G.



This Aquos Pad DH-05G is one 7 inch tablet pc, adopting IGZO screen. Resolution is 1920*1200 pixels. Unit size is 174*105*8.0mm, total weight is about 210g. As this Aquos Pad DH-05G has special design, it may not have the overheating problem. So its performance should be quite high. Its CPU working frequency can be 1.5GHz and 2.0GHz. But we need to test it to make sure about it.

This tablet only has black color available, its RAM is 2GB, flash memory is 32GB. Users can extend the memory by one MicroSDXC up to 64GB. The rear camera is 8M pixels, and front camera is 2.1M pixels. Battery capacity is 3900Mah, battery life is unknown for now. The operation system is Android 5.0 Lollipop OS.

Unit can support Wifi, 4G LTE-A, VoLTE network, and has Full SEG TV service.

News about Intel 10nm processor

The Intel's 14nm processor is available for over 1 year, and when will the Intel 10nm processor be available?

This Feb, staff from Intel said, the 10nm processor will be launched in 2017. But today, as our news, this 10nm processor may be moved ahead. Recently people disclosed the Intel Road map for 2013-2016, from the road map, we can see this 10nm processor will be launched in the 2nd quarter of 2016.



This is the first 10nm processor from Intel, its code is Cannonlake. This processor will be firstly adopted by laptop PC, and even in 2016, it may not be adopted by desktop PC. As the very low power consumption, this processor may be adopted by tablets or smart phones as well. It will be the 3rd quarter of 2016. Its highest end flagship CPU, Skaylake-E will be available in 3rd quarter.

Broadwell series will have Core I7-5775C, Core I5-5675C for desktop PC, and in August, Skylate will have five processors, they are Core I7-6700K, I7-6700, Core I5-6600K, I5-6600 and I5-6500. In next Jan, they may have upgrading editions.

In the road map, the other four CPU are not displayed, they are both coming low power consumption, only 35W. They are Core I7-6700T, Core I5-6600T, I5-6500T and I5-6400T.

Google pushes out Android 5.1 Lollipop OS to Nexus 9

Nvidia will abandon smart phone and tablets market

As news from ontablets.es, Nvidia will abandon its mobile devices business, and sell out its 3G and LTE modem business. Nvidia announced that it will close Icera before 2nd quarter of 2015, and sell out all its properties. In 2011, Nvidia is cost 367 million US dollar to acquire Icera modem business.

In 2011, Nvidia was already the leader of desktop PC, and it was also quite confident of the future of mobile devices, like smart phones and tablets. So Nvidia developed its Tegra 2 dual core processor, this chipset was selected by Motorola. At that moment, Qualcomm is still a solution provider for base band. Mediatek even did not start its business for mobile device.



At that moment, Nvidia just owned the technology of APP processor, but no technologies for base band. So Nvidia wanted to acquire Icera. After the acquisition, Nvidia launched its new SOC integrating base band. In 2013, and 2014, Qualcomm started to compete with Mediatek. But Nvidia was still one year ahead of Mediatek. Everything looks very good.

In May, 2011, Nvidia finished the acquisition with Icera. At that moment, Nvidia were still developing its Tegra 2 and Tegra 3. Till now, Nvidia has already launched its Tegra 3, Tegra 4, Tegra K1, Tegra X1 processor, but it still have not finished integration of base band technology and MCU technology.

Even Huauwei, which is a later comer, has already launched its Kirin 920 with base band technology in 2014, Nvidia still has no result. Maybe, it is a good thing for Nvidia to quit from smart phone and tablets business.
