Samsung Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge are launched

The day before yesterday, Samsung launched its flagship mobile phone, Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge which is coming with curved screen. It is just following the HTC M9. Compared with HTC M9, its design and performance are much better.

Samsung Galaxy S6 adopts the Corning IV Gorilla Glass for both front and rear. The Galaxy S6 Edge adopts the curved screen. Compared with other Galaxy mobile phones, this S6 does not adopt the removable battery, but one built in. The benefit of this new design is the thickness is more slim. The Galaxy S6 is only 6.8mm, and the S6 Edge is only 7.0mm. There are four colors available, black, white, blue and golden.



Both S6 and S6 Edge own one 5.1 inch AMOLED screen. Screen resolution is 2560*1440 pixels. Its PPI is 557. Regarding the CPU, S6 and S6 Edge do not adopt the processor from Qualcomm, but its own Exynos 7420 octa core processor. This chipset includes four Cortex A57, frequency is 2.1GHz, and four Cortex A53, frequency is 1.5GHz. Its RAM is 3GB DDR4, flash memory is starting from 32GB. There are also 64GB and 128GB editions. The flash memory is based on the UFS 2.0 technology, its running speed is 2,7 times of eMMC 5.0. But both units can not support external memory extension. The front camera is 5M pixels, and rear camera is 16M pixels. S6 and S6 Edge have the latest Touch ID function. As adopting the built in battery, the capacity of S6 is only 2600Mah, and S6 Edge is 2650Mah. But they can support the wireless recharge function.


Both unit will be available for sale on 10th April. Till now, Samsung did not announce the price of both units. But as our news from ontablets.es, S6 32GB edition is 699 euros. 64GB edition is 799 euros. 128GB edition is 899 euros. S6 Edge is more expensive, its price is 849 euros, 949 euros, and 1049 euros.
