At early of this year, Alaska Air announced that it will prepare
tablet pc with Windows 8 OS for passengers for entertainment during journey. As our latest, the tablet Alaska chose is Toshiba Encore 2. And Alaska has increased the order quantity recently. The reason is quite simple, demand from passengers is very high. Passengers just need to pay 8 to 10 US dollars, and you can use the Toshiba Encore 2 during the whole journey. It will provide frontier technology for passengers.
But the operation system of this Toshiba Encore 2 for passengers is not running Windows 8.1 operation system, but Windows Embedded 8.1 Industrial. Skycast Solutions will provide security and update service. The other benefit is Skycast will provide the latest films which is just playing in theaters.
Except that, Alaska is also quite expecting the Windows 10 operation system, and it also make soem preparation for it. Maybe it is a new market for the tablet suppliers.
